Greetings and Commendations unto the Heralds and Pursuivants of the East Kingdom from Lyle FitzWilliam, Eastern Crown Herald

This is the Letter of Report (LOR) on Internal Letter of Intent (ILOI) number 1999-04. Accepted submissions listed in this letter will be sent to Blue Tyger Herald, to be included in an External Letter of Intent (XLoI) to Laurel and the College of Arms.

In Service,

Lyle Eastern Crown

1. Alexander Mor MacIan — new name accepted & new device returned

Azure, on a fess argent, a boar couchant azure.

The name was submitted as Alexander 'Mor' MacIan.

The device has a conflict with the badge of Aithine nic Merric (Aug 79), Azure, upon a fess argent, a mole's paw print sable, and Argentina (protected Sep 1995), Azure, on a fess argent a sun in splendor Or. There is at most one CD for the changes to a tertiary charge (X.4.j). This device submission would conflict with any other registered device that is Azure, on a fess argent <something>.

2. Ann Sarasin — new device accepted

Or, a raven close to sinister sable between three acorns proper.

Possible conflict with Suzanne of Ravenhill (Sep 73), Or, a raven statant to sinister grasping a broken tilting spear banded sable and gules. There is one CD for the addition/removal of the secondary charges, and possibly a CD for the tilting spear, depending on how significant it is in Suzanne's device. Because I do not have a copy of Suzanne's device to compare it, I am going to have to rely on Laurel's judgment with this submission.

3. Anne of Framlingham — new device pended

Lozengy gules and argent, each argent section charged with a key inverted, a chief sable.

I am taking the step of pending this device submission, until I can get a redraw of the device with the partial keys that everyone wants to see. The device is otherwise clear of conflict. Once I receive a redraw, I will accept the device as submitted and forward it to Reynard Blue Tyger.

4. Brion Anthony Uriel Tarragon — new badge accepted

Azure, a gryphon segreant Or within a bordure Or goutty de sang.

The ILoI had this as a device submission, when it was actually a badge submission.

5. Ciarnait O'Broin — new device returned

Azure, a chevron wavy between three two-masted caravels argent.

Conflict with Eleanore of West Riding (Oct 88), Azure, a chevron wavy between three maltese crosses argent. There is one CD for change in type of the secondary charges.

6. Dunstan D'Argentine — new name accepted & new device accepted

Sable, a moon in her compliment between three lozenges argent.

7. East Kingdom — new pursuivant name returned

Milestone Pursuivant

The commenters could only document the word "milestone" in English to 1746. Unless we can find documentation of its use before that date, we cannot support the submission.

8. Eibhlin Macewan — new name accepted & new device returned

Azure, a bendlet wavy between a fox statant guardant argent and a willow tree issuant from base Or.

While the name is not particularly good style, being a combination of Gaelic and English, it is allowed. The device is being returned for a redraw. The willow tree is unrecognizable, and should probably be moved out of the base of the device.

9. Fiona Randal of Avanmore — new device accepted

Or, a bar gemel wavy azure.

10. Lili of Eastham — resub name accepted & resub device withdrawn

Per pale Or and purpure, on a chevron between three crescents, 3 mullets counterchanged.

The name was submitted as "LiLi", but the intention was to submit "Lili". Device submission was withdrawn by the submitter. See submission on 2000-01.

11. Luke Knowlton — new name accepted & new device accepted

Vert, a chevron engrailed between three beeskeeps, with bees diversely volant, Or.

12. Mary of Montevale — new name accepted & new device accepted

Per pale purpure and vert, a sea stag within a bordure argent semy of pommes.

13. Minna of Tintagel — resub name accepted & resub device accepted

Or, a pike fish embowed hauriant barry sable and argent.

14. Nastassiia Ivanova Medvedeva — new name accepted & new device accepted

Sable, a bear sejant erect atop a mount and in chief three escarbuncles argent.

15. Robert of the Quill — resub name accepted & resub device accepted

Per bend sable and Or, in bend three quills bendwise sinister counter-changed.

16. Theresa Boncheval — resub name accepted & resub device accepted

Per bend vert and azure, a horse head couped within a bordure Or.

A conflict was incorrectly called with Julitta des Chevaux (Sep 83), Per fess vert and\par sable, a horse's head couped within a bordure embattled Or. There is a CD for the field treatment, and a second CD for the change in line of partition\par of the bordure (plain vs. embattled_).
