Herein are the submissions for the second ILoI of 2000 (2000-02). There are 15 entries.

I’d like to have comments in hand on this letter by Monday, March 20th. As before, comments can be either in writing or submitted electronically.

The next ILoI is expected to be much larger — watch for it.

Glyn Conwy — "of the glen of the river Conwy". p. 22, 12 (for "Conwy"): "Welsh Place Names + Their Meanings" by Dewi Davies (PCA). — formed according to examples given: "Glyn Feirion", "Glyn Gwy" (Wye).

Temair — p. 170, Ó Corráin + Maguire, "Irish Names" (pbk. ed.). Wife of the high-king Diarmait R{u’}anald, d. 655; also a St. Temair

ingen — submitter desires this to mean "daughter of", and much prefers this to alternate forms.

Aeda — Áed, p. 13, Ó Corráin + Maguire. Submittor is under the impression that the "-a" ending is proper for the patronymic, but Ó Corráin + Maguire does not comment.

14. Tara Hewes (f) — new alternate name

Tara — p. 170, Ó Corráin + Maguire "Irish Names". They suggest that this is an appropriate Anglicization of "Temair".

Hewes — p. 242, Reaney + Wilson "English Surnames", entry "Hugh". "Elysabeth Hewes", 1524.

Permission is being granted to conflict with the badge of Salaamallah the Corpulent (Feb 82), Tierced in pall sable, gules and vert, a chess rook argent. It remains to get a correct form of the permission to conflict letter.

Free of conflict with Salaamallah the Corpulent (Nov 79), Papellonny Or and gules, a chess-rook sable. There is one CD for the change in field treatment and one CD for tincture of the primary charge.
